Bruce & Co. are delighted to announce the sale of Annfield Guest House!

Bruce and Co. have successfully facilitated the sale of Annfield Guest House, a traditional stone built detached villa, dating back to 1975.  The business has been operated by the clients, Mr & Mrs Mcintosh, since 2006, who have completely renovated the property and developed functional owner’s accommodation. The success of the business is evident from the awards it consistently achieves; including being in the top 25 guest houses in the UK in Trip Advisor’s 2013 Traveller’s Choice Awards, and the a high 4 gold star rating on Visit Scotland. The property was placed on the market due to the current proprietor’s impending wish to retire.

The guest house currently trades over 8 months of the year, which presented an excellent opportunity for expansion of the business by the new owners. The property sits prominently within its own grounds, near to social amenities, within a popular tourist location. As a result, when brought to the market the business enjoyed high levels of interest and, following six viewings and two offers, the freehold business interest was successfully bought by a first time buyer, Mr Macdonald, for £493,750. Mr Macdonald was looking to move North to Scotland from Gloucestershire, and sold his property to finance the purchase.

Jayne Adamson, Sales Manager at Bruce & Co., commented saying: “It was a pleasure to deal with the sale of Annfield Guest House. It was a very popular business and the sale had an unperturbed and successful completion. Furthermore, on behalf of Bruce & Co I would like to wish Mr Macdonald good luck with his move to Scotland, and also with the future of Annfield Guest House. We would also like to wish the vendors all the best for with their retirement.”
