The clients, Mr and Mrs Scott, placed the well-established country pub on the market after running it themselves for 2 and a half years – only doing so to allow time to focus on other business commitments. However, for the time the vendors kept the business, they made extensive renovations and dramatically improved the overall success of the business.
The Struy Inn, a charming traditional 19th century detached property, features a pub and dining area, with 2 lettings rooms – both of which were fully refurbished to a stylish and modern standard during Mr and Mrs Scott’s care. As a result of its location and highly enviable reputation, the business benefits from high levels of repeat custom – particularly from fishermen, walkers and canoeists.
Following high levels of interests and 7 viewings, the leasehold opportunity was successfully purchased by Mr Ovenden for £35,000.
