Harbourside General Store Sold to Corporate Buyer ‘3DG3 Limited’

Bruce & Co. are pleased to announce the successful sale of Harbourside General Store, a long established Convenience Store located in the Ayrshire town ofIrvine.  The store was purchased by a corporate buyer based inScotland– 3DG3 Limited, on a freehold basis for £58,000.

The store was originally owned by Mr and Mrs Hollas, who decided to bring the business to the market in order to allow them to concentrate on their other business interests. The store was under the care of Mr and Mrs Hollas for over 25 years, and during this time, the store has become an integral part of the local community; making it very relied upon. The business benefits from being situated in a prominent trading position onMontgomery Street, surrounded by a variety of shops and businesses. The property itself is a traditional end terraced property, which is presented to a high standard throughout. The store sells a variety of items including general grocery items, cigarettes, alcohol, and additional hot food. Even though the business has been trading very successfully, there is still considerable scope for the new buyers to grow the business by for example, introducing Lotto, and even through increasing opening times.

Salecompletion took five months due to reforms in the Scottish Land Registry taking effect last December. The new legislation means that new policies and practices have been introduced when registering property and land. Even though this caused a delay, Bruce & Co. were adept to keeping all parties updated on the sale at all times, and with this, sale completion was completed in five months.

Jayne Adamson, Sales Manager at Bruce & Co commented, stating “It was an absolute pleasure to deal with this sale. Due to having a great Solicitor on the Seller’s side, the deal went smoothly as the communication was there”
