Successful Sale of Thomson Newsagents in Dumfries & Galloway

Bruce & Co. are delighted to announce the sale of Thomson Newsagents situated in Castle Douglas, Dumfries & Galloway!

Thomson Newsagents is an extremely busy business which has been run by the vendors Mr and Mrs Thomson since 2013. The vendors decided to bring the business to the market due to their other business commitments. The business benefits from being fully equipped and was presented at walk in condition. Although the business has been trading extremely successfully, there is still excellent scope to grow and develop the business.

The business offers a good selection of cold filled rolls, cigarettes, general groceries, chilled drinks and confectionary along with a good selection of newspapers and magazines, and has over 300 newspaper accounts being delivered to the local area.

The property is an end terraced lock-up unit. The front is straight to street with a traditional frontage. The entrance is from the front, which in turn leads into the main shop. On entering, the service counter is located directly to the rear. The shop has under gone a full refurbishment and refit by the vendors. Additional features include a stock room and staff WC facilities.

Thomson Newsagents was sold to Mr Bendall’s son and daughter in law (with the help of Mr Bendall) on a freehold basis for £78,000.

Safa Sultan, Sales Negotiator at Bruce & Co. commented “I am really pleased that we have come to a successful completion. I wish Mr and Mrs Thomson all the best with the future, and wish the new owners all the best with their new business venture. It was a pleasure to deal with everyone involved in this sale”
