Kelly’s Stores is a long established convenience store, which has been under the vendor’s ownership, Mr Kelly, for over 25 years. Since its operation, the business has grown to show year on year increased profitability; having formed an excellent base of loyal clientele and benefiting from much repeat custom. The business was only brought to the market to Mr Kelly’s impending wish to retire.
The vendor has ran the business at his own pace, and so even though the store was successful, there is much potential for new owners to increase turnover by for example, utilising a food licence (which the business previously had), and introducing hot food sales.
Following 7 impressive viewings, the business was sold to Mr Khan on a freehold basis for £80,000, and was acquired through cash. Mr Khan comments, “I was treated very well throughout the sale, which went very well.”
