Bruce & Co. are delighted to announce the sale of Ayr Gatehouse. The business was run as a popular 9 bedroom bed & breakfast, and had been run by the vendors Mr and Mrs Alexander since 2009. The quality of the guest house was reflected in the number of awards it held; including a coveted 5 star rating from Trip Advisor.
Many of the visitors to the business included business professionals, Robert Burns’s enthusiasts and golfers – with the b&b offering special golfing packages to suit.
The building incorporates a traditionally built Victorian style detached property that has been renovated and tastefully extended at various periods. The property is set in its own well maintained grounds and is presented to a very high standard. The sale of the business also came with an owner’s accommodation; offering en-suite facility.
The B&B was sold on a freehold basis, over the asking price, for £610,000. The property was acquired by Partners in Care, who specialise in care and mental health homes. The location and the size of the building were among the main reasons which attracted the corporate buyer to the property.
