Whistlefield Inn Sold in Dunoon

Bruce & Co. are delighted to announce the sale of the Whistlefield Inn in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute. Operated by the vendors, Mr and Mrs Devine since 2012 up until 3 years ago, they decided to bring the business to the market due to their other business interests.

The building itself encompasses a traditionally built, detached stone property and dates back to 1663, with the cellar of the property dating back to the mid-1400s. Set in its own grounds, the inn benefits from stunning views over Loch Eck.

The business generated good levels of interest with 8 viewings and 4 offers, before being sold to an experienced operator, Mr Mcnaughton on a leasehold basis. The size, location and the potential of the business were cited by the buyer in his decision to purchase.

The vendors, Mr and Mrs Devine commented: Safa Sultan of Bruce and Co. who recently acted for us in the matter of the sale or lease of our country Inn, acted very professionally at all times and kept us fully informed of all developments during the marketing period – especially towards the end where it came to down to a competitive bidding situation.

“We would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone in a similar scenario and would have no doubts about engaging their services again should we require.”

Safa Sultan commented: “I’m very pleased that we have found a suitable buyer for the Whistlefield Inn. By continuously marketing the property and making different options of purchase available, we have managed to generate a sale. I hope Mr and Mrs Devine all the best with their other interests, and wish the buyer the best of luck in his new venture”
