Abacus Children’s Nurseries Sold to First Time Buyer

Redwoods Dowling Kerr are delighted to announce the sale of Abacus Children’s Nurseries, a well-established and reputable day nursery business, comprising two settings, in Kent.

The group of two nurseries occupy great locations in popular Kent towns, close to the shopping facilities, motorways and main roads, providing ideal settings from which to run a profitable business. Both settings have a plentiful mix of residential housing and commercial businesses nearby, giving an excellent catchment area for customers, many of whom commute to London on a daily basis.  The first setting in New Barn is registered for 33 children, with the second setting in Chatham registered for 80.
The sale represented the opportunity for a new operator to take this well-respected business to the next level, building on its superb base established by the vendors, Mrs Linda Manning and Mrs Karen Phillips. Mrs Manning and Mrs Phillips had only placed the business on the market due to their wish to retire from the childcare industry.

Following a number of viewings, the business was sold to first time buyer Mrs Audra Uikiene, who has a background as a catering manager. With previous experience as a nursery nurse, Mrs Uikiene decided to take her first steps into business with Abacus Children’s Nurseries. The new buyer was attracted to the nurseries due to their convenient location and good size, and hopes to continue to progress the business to its full potential.

Linda Manning and Karen Phillips said: Many thanks to Firdaws Patel at Redwoods Dowling Kerr for all the help that she gave us. From the beginning, when we met Mark Phillips [Associate Director at Redwoods Dowling Kerr] who put the business on the market to Firdaws dealing with our buyer, RDK’s service was excellent and we would recommend them to others.”

Firdaws Patel from Redwoods Dowling Kerr commented: “I would like to thank our client for instructing Redwoods Dowling Kerr. I have really enjoyed working with them and wish them all the best for the future. I wish our purchasers success with their new business venture.”
