Barony Bar Sold in Under Four Months

Bruce & Co. are delighted to announce the sale of the Barony Bar, an extremely busy and long-established pub in Edinburgh.

Having operated in the area for over 100 years, Barony Bar has built up a reputation for good beer and being one of the town’s best places to enjoy a sociable drink and meal with friends. The pub occupies an enviable location on the busy Broughton Street in the centre of Edinburgh, surrounded by both commercial and residential properties.

Barony Bar is on The Campaign for Real Ale’s list of heritage pubs, and is richly decorated with Grade 3 listed mirrors and tiles. The vendor, Mr Malcolm Binnie, decided to place the business on the market due to his wish to retire. This therefore presented a fantastic opportunity to purchase an award winning business in a superb location.

This opportunity generated tremendous interest, and following an impressive 65 viewings and 14 offers, the business was sold to Mr Rafal Karwacki, who was attracted to the location and reputation of the business. He plans to build on Mr Binnie’s hard work and continue to grow the business.

Mr Binnie said: I would like to thank Bruce & Co for their professional help in selling my business. Safa dealt with the sale well, always keeping me informed in a courteous and capable manner.”

Safa Sultan from Bruce & Co. commented “With a tremendous amount of interest in this business, I am delighted to see it sold. The Barony Bar has gained an ambitious and keen new owner and wish them nothing but the best.”
