BrightStart Day Nursery Group has expanded their portfolio with the multi-million-pound acquisition of two sites in the North East.
Brightstart Nursery Group have acquired two nursery centers located in county Durham, both, purchased through the Redwoods Dowling Kerr Corporate Sales Process. This is the fourth purchase that BrightStart have made through RDK, and the sale was completed within just four weeks.
Project Honey represented the opportunity for an experienced nursery operative to acquire two well-performing and well-established settings. Under the ownership of the vendors, Busy Bees and Busy Bears have earned a fantastic reputation with parents, and achieved ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted reports.
Boasting high occupancy levels, a good size, impressive training records and an experienced management team, the two nurseries have all the ingredients of top-class childcare settings. The vendors have invested significant amounts of time and energy to ensure this, with Busy Bears transforming from a failing going concern into a superb nursery.
BrightStart, continually looking to expand their portfolio, purchased their first setting in 2013 and have grown significantly ever since. In the past, Brightstart have bought Orchard Day Nursery in Liverpool, First Steps in Bury and HappyTots Day Nursery in Barrow in Furness, all through Redwoods Dowling Kerr.
They were attracted to Project Honey thanks in no small part to its good size and track record of profitability.
The vendors, Mr, Mrs & Miss Graham, decided to place the business on the market due to their wish to retire from the childcare industry. They own a number of alternative businesses and will be focussing on them now that the sale has been completed.
