A couple who purchased their kennel and cattery through Redwoods Dowling Kerr are looking forward to retirement after selling it with the same brokerage, eleven years later.
Mr David Smart and Mrs Stephanie Smart originally bought Skyecroft Kennels and Cattery in Shildon with Redwoods Dowling Kerr back in 2007. They decided to contact the business brokerage again in 2018 to sell their much-loved business.
Situated in the rural County Durham countryside, the well-established kennel and cattery is licensed for 68 dogs and 24 cats and enjoys an excellent reputation in the area for the level of service provided.
The vendors now leave Skyecroft in the hands of first-time buyers, Mr Mick Oliver and Mrs Wendy Oliver. The couple were keen to purchase after falling in love with the rural location of the business and are now hoping to grow Skyecroft under a fresh ethos.
Commenting on the transaction, vendor, Mrs Stephanie Smart said:
“We purchased Skyecroft eleven years ago through your good selves and because we were so well looked after, we chose your company to look after the sale.
“Throughout the sales process we have found you and the rest of the team very professional. If you said you would call us back, you did. We were kept informed throughout the process and could not have achieved the sale without the help and support we received from all of you.
“We would have no hesitation in recommending Redwood Dowling Kerr to potential customers.
Sales negotiator Ryan Eastham said:
“I am delighted to have overseen the sale of Skyecroft Kennels.
“Stephanie and Dave have now purchased and sold through Redwoods Dowling Kerr and their comments highlight the level of service they have received on both occasions.
“I wish both parties the very best of luck for the future and I am sure Skyecroft Kennels will continue to provide an outstanding service under new owners, Wendy and Tony.”
The sale also comes with a modern and well-presented owner’s accommodation in the form of a 3-bedroom property.
