South Hills School Ltd have expanded following the sale of Cheverell Old School Nursery in Devizes, Wiltshire.
The sale marks the group’s eight acquisition and their most recent to be facilitated by Redwoods Dowling Kerr.
Cheverell Old School Nursery is an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted-registered, children’s day nursery with capacity for 34 children aged 2 to 5-years-old.
Established and owned by Mrs Rhona Welham since 1991, the business has gone from strength to strength, establishing itself as one of the most reputable children’s day nurseries in the Devizes area.
Following 27 years of successful trading, the vendor is now looking forward to retiring.
Commenting on the sale, vendor Mrs Rhona Welham said:
“Sarah Ellison took control of the sale as the sales negotiator and she answered every query, no matter how trivial, with patience and professionalism. The process took months to achieve an outcome, but Redwoods Dowling Kerr kept up with everything as it was needed, and I always felt relieved to have a team around me that knew how to move the process forwards.
“Redwoods Dowling Kerr finally completed the process by recommending an amazing solicitor and many times I felt that I had the best team on my side, who I could depend upon. Even when I had my own ideas on how I wanted to exit the nursery, the professional team respected my decisions and worked with me, rather than disregard my own style.
“Passing the nursery on does signify the end of an era, but the start of a new chapter that Redwoods Dowling Kerr made possible by their experience, skill and expertise.”
Senior Sales negotiator Sarah Ellison said:
“Selling your business is always a big decision but for Rhona Welham, who has owned and run this setting for 27 years, this is the end of an era.
“The buyers are South Hill Schools Ltd who have just won Nursery Group of the Year 2018 at the NMT awards in London. South Hills School Ltd are a well-established chain of day nurseries and Cheverell Old School fits perfectly with their expansion plans.
“The sale suited Mrs Welham very well as it allows her to hand over her much-loved nursery to a local family operator, who will continue to build on the success of the business.
“We would like to wish Rhona Welham all the best in her retirement and good luck to South Hill Schools with their new acquisition.”
