Tees Valley Collaborative Trust acquires new setting via Redwoods Dowling Kerr

The renowned childcare provider in Guisborough, North Yorkshire has been sold.

Established 17 years ago under the expert ownership of vendor Christine Robertson, Guisborough Montessori has solidified its excellent reputation for providing unrivalled, sessional childcare in the local area. The original premises had been operating as a nursery setting for over 30 years.

With a capacity of 20 children from 2 to 5 years of age, Guisborough Montessori enjoys optimal fee income. Its high-quality service is provided during the term time.

This setting enjoys a wonderful reputation with Ofsted, especially when it comes to tailoring to special educational needs. It is operated by a proficient management structure, fully supported by dedicated and extensively trained early years practitioners. This is resonated in its “Good” Ofsted report upon its latest inspection.

Christine made the decision to bring this comprehensive business to market due to her impending wish to retire. Once placed on the market by Redwoods Dowling Kerr, it generated a substantial amount of interest. After 8 viewings and 3 tactical offers, the nursery was ultimately acquired by the successful buyer, Tees Valley Collaborative Trust.

Being an experienced sector operator, Joanna from Tees Valley has a complimentary and longstanding reputation within the industry. The multi-academy trust that she represents acquired the setting to elevate their brand’s presence in the sector and to further their delivery of exceptional childcare. This long-standing organisation felt that this business would further boost their established brand. The site has since been relocated to a considerably renovated setting, ready to continue its successful trajectory within this in-demand industry.

The buyer commented;

“I have found RDK very easy to deal with. Someone has always been available and everyone I have dealt with, especially yourself Kim, has been courteous and efficient.  The transaction has not been a straightforward one – are they ever? – but even through the more difficult moments RDK have been very helpful and responsive. We were delighted to successfully complete the transaction and I would definitely recommend RDK. Best wishes for the future and thanks for everything.”

Lead Negotiator Kim Emsley commented;

“Christine has been a pleasure to deal with throughout the sale of Guisborough. I wish her the best of luck for the future. She has most definitely earned her rest. I really do feel that Tees Valley Collaborative were the perfect buyers for Guisborough and always had a clear vision of the new site. I am sure it will be a huge success. I had the pleasure of working with Joanna Bailey throughout, who was ever the professional. I would like to wish her well for their ongoing and already successful venture.”
